Treating Thermally Modified Wood
If left untreated, Thermally Modified wood will lighten and eventually turn silver. This begins immediately and may take up to one year to fully change. The original color can be recaptured at any point by sanding and applying a UV protectant along with a CUTEK Colortone. All SmartTech decking and siding is treated with 2 coats of CUTEK Extreme before departing the factory.
